Working with entrepreneurs is a whole different process than working with established companies. But it’s a process that one can fall in love with.

When starting to work with entrepreneurs on a branding project, the attitude is key to the future success. It is second only to good team chemistry. Why? Because entrepreneurs are brand creators by nature. And everything is personal, with high stakes. Be they serial entrepreneurs or just starting on this rocky road, either fueled by passion for business or following a hobby, they need partners with multiple skills and great flexibility when it comes to the rules of the game. And the game is worth it.

Being a Part of Their World

We’ve learned that it’s best to start by believing that the entrepreneur that is creating a new product, service or experience knows what they want, even if they don’t always communicate that clearly. They are creators of new worlds that the branding agency needs to inhabit, feel, and faithfully communicate to the consumer. The most important thing is to listen, to understand the vision. One can experiment, empathize, sympathize, do anything to get into that mind frame that created the new product. Then we look at the consumer.

What Do We Learn When We Listen?

Surprising things! For example, when planning an event, we learned that the participants were more interested in belonging to a community than the event itself. So, we listened. And the client listened. It was all about the need to belong to a group with similar interests, to know more and to connect. So that’s what we did in our process – we integrated consumer touchpoint branding.

The greatest satisfaction is to let the brand grow like a healthy tree, allowing any development, trimming out only what could be detrimental, and experimenting along the way. There’s no greater place for that than a fresh, exciting venture!
