How we built an MVP together with Audi Denkwerkstatt, Audi’s internal innovation incubator – on time and on budget.

Use E-Learning to Train Employees

Not everyone has enough room in their schedule to keep up to date on new innovative technologies and terminologies. The Myndset team from Audi Denkwerkstatt approached us with an idea: they wanted to use video classes to support digital transformation in a corporate context. These classes would teach employees modern working methods and would be easy to watch whenever it was convenient, e. g. during their daily commute.

Lean, Mean (And on Budget)

The Myndset idea was launched at Audi Denkwerkstatt, Audi’s internal innovation incubator, so we had to deal with very tight deadlines. We had two months to develop a working app ready for testing on real users and subsequent presentation to the Audi management board.

To make the most of this time, we quickly agreed on a very hands-on approach. Over the following weeks, the Myndset team became a firm fixture at our Berlin office. Our goal was to cut the process all the way down to the bare bones and focus on lightning-fast delivery.

Next-Level Employee Training

As a starting point, the Audi Myndset team provided us with initial user research and low-fi prototypes already tested on real subjects.

This gave us a good idea of people’s expectations and set us well on course to deliver a learning experience that keeps users engaged, but at the same time delivers measurable improvements throughout the whole organization.

Bite-Size Learning

For a more engaging learning experience, Myndset packages these lessons into easily digestible, short (2-5 min) videos. Much like social media feeds, our designs prioritized quick access to contents while minimising the effort required to navigate many tabs and pages.

Connect With Real People

While technology certainly makes learning more accessible, it still can’t compete with talking to a real expert. That’s why – at the end of each course – learners can easily book a follow-up session with lecturers or reach out to experts within their organization.

Truly Measurable Results

In the end, even the best learning experience has to deliver measurable results. Apart from quick quizzes, Myndset also examines learners’ behaviour to track and analyse which courses achieve the best results. Team leads and HR departments can access this data to promote the best content for their employees.

AI Maximises Effective Learning

Thanks to recent advances in machine learning and computer vision, smart algorithms have become capable of “reading” human emotions just by looking at a face. We used emotion recognition as an approach to improve the learning experience. Just like an experienced human teacher, the finished app can detect if someone is distracted, confused or simply struggling to understand the lesson. Based on this input, we can further tweak and personalise the learning experience to maximize the effect of each session.
