The Challenge Joemarine a renowned maritime, and oil and gas training institute in Nigeria. The institute faced several challenges when issuing certificates: number mismatch, forgery, duplication of certificate numbers and a long printing process. They previously relied on CorelDRAW and needed to manually issue certificate numbers alongside a long process of verifying credentials and student payment. Solution Our solution was to streamline this process to save Joemarine time and ensure accuracy. Elucomputing developed a certificate management system that handles the process of student enrollment, payment approval, credential approval, and certificate printing. Certificate numbers were autogenerated by the system, preventing duplicates. Old certificates were converted to a template and embedded into the new system with credentials captured for the enrollment process. Student enrollments are entered into the system by one set of staff members, and payment and credential approval by another to prevent any internal sharp practices.
