Samara is an award-winning five-star game reserve in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, specializing in various luxury accommodations and tours.

Brief

Samara’s core objectives were to increase direct bookings and to improve the quality of organic traffic through better rankings for relevant search results.

Strategy

The overarching strategy was to improve the visibility of both highly relevant and transaction-ready key terms in South Africa and abroad.

In order to achieve the overarching strategy, we identified that we needed to improve the Samara site’s responsiveness, load speed, and keyword targeting. Other technical SEO needed to be conducted on the site.

Furthermore, there was an opportunity to improve the traffic to the website through the local search results and map results sections as Samara had yet to claim and optimize a Google My Business listing.

The second phase of the optimization was the facilitation of creating high-quality blog articles on topics, such as “spekboom”, which are specific to the Karoo region. We identified significant search volume and interest surrounding this specific plant which we used to attract additional visitors to the website, as well as to earn backlinks naturally.
