FinancyBirds is a unique app for couples and partners to maintain a transparent financial record. The app lets the user track their expenses and incomes coming from various modes like cash, card, cheque, etc. People can also control the recurrence of these activities so they get automatically updated in a certain time period. Other features like setting budgets, commenting on activities makes it easier to manage daily finances. People can track and plan their financial status from current and forecasting reports generated from their spending habits and monthly earnings. If you’re like most people, you check your smartphone at least 50 times a day — looking at everything from text messages and work emails to weather alerts and sports scores. But as many have discovered, your smartphone can help you keep tabs on your finances. Managing money, sticking to a budget and even handling investment decisions are easier than ever before with today’s crop of personal finance apps. The Research We wanted to find out what apps, if any, couples use for managing their finances, what they like or dislike about those apps, what experience they have while making finance entries, and to gain a more holistic understanding of users experiences. Some of our key findings: Most couples mostly add Expense rather than Income. As the target audience were couples we found that they wanted their expense/income to be kept separated but combined at a one place. Most of the expenses/incomes are recurring (every day/week/month/year). Couples want to see a forecast of the upcoming month/year on basis of their saved financial data. Solving the Considerations Creating a New Entry Most couples mostly add Expense rather than Income. so we just place a single button in the thumb area as (New Entry) to create an entry, after that by default Expenses is selected, user can change the entry type to Income by a button beside Expense. Separated Events in One Place Couples wanted their expense/income to be kept separated from each other but combined at one place, hence comes Chat view in the frame. Recurring Entries Most of the expenses/incomes are recurring (every day/week/month/year). So while creating a new entry users have an option to make that entry recur daily/weekly/monthly/yearly. Downloadable Monthly Reports Want a brief report on all your expense and income transactions registered in a month In FinancyBirds we have provided and option through which user can mail them a copy of full elaborative report. Commenting Feature Have something to say over an expense/income entry of your partner or your’s, say it in the comments sections with a couple of taps. Forecast Reports Couples want to see a forecast of the upcoming month/year on the basis of their saved financial data.
