About the Client OSCE is yet another step on the path of automatization and technologization the University of Basel undertakes. It is an enterprise resource planning system, which is intended to enhance personnel managing efforts and decrease the amount of paperwork associated with it. OSCE contains the life cycle of the University and helps to monitor its state and adjust it in accordance to new circumstances, and as a result, the service increases the adaptability of the establishment. Challenges and Objectives It was decided to use a service-oriented architecture approach because it is self-contained and logically represents a business activity with a specified outcome. The team stuck with Java and JS classics, using Java (Spring), Hibernate, and AngularJS as an optimal set of technologies for this particular project. Results OSCE is a virtual companion, which helps users to manage all their phases during the period of study, the specialist medical training, or the whole academic career. The system is also responsible for the data management of all the parties that are involved in the examination process and provides a statistical analysis of the examination results.
