How we hit the spot with our React cross-platform development and jazzed up the UI/UX design – all this in only 5 weeks

Project Goal: Cross-Platform Mobile App

Il Pelagone is a hotel and golf resort in Italy. What the client wanted us to do was create an app for the visitors so they could easily book different services via a user-friendly mobile application.

So, the goal was to release a cross-platform React Native mobile application – on both iOS and Android platforms – which would allow clients of Pelagone hotel to order services most conveniently.

We wanted to give the hotel customers a companion app which they were supposed to install by checking into the hotel. Besides, we aimed for making it possible to view the whole history of their bookings, some additional info about the hotel and phone numbers of support.

Project Solution

1. Firstly, UI/UX design

The very first impression of the requirements to the app we got even before calling the customer. That allowed us to prepare some mockups of user flow in advance. We used the Marvel app for that. In fact, this is the fastest solution when you draw screens on paper and then using the phone, create a simple clickable prototype.

That worked, and the customer approved our solution. Together, we decided to use a UI template as it reduces the time both for development and design.

In the design stage, we created the logic for booking services, organized all information, and created a clickable prototype in Figma.

2. Secondly, React Development

The main value of the app is its dynamic schedules. The app allows any customer to book up to 7 services provided by the resort. Each service can be booked based on specific conditions to be selected by guests: date, time, specialists, types of services, number of participants.

We developed a highly reliable algorithm that forms dynamic schedules per service based on the working time and service intervals.

  • Login and sign up
  • Email confirmation
  • Booking of up to 7 different services at a time
  • Calendar and time slots for booking
  • List of all bookings with the possibility to cancel an appointment
  • Localization


Valuable Bonus: Time

We delivered our backend solution twice faster than expected! In general, it took us only 5 weeks to develop the whole app – from scratch to release. However, we covered all the MVP functionality.
