About the Project:

The Cancer Research Institute wanted to increase awareness and pique the interest of the public for immunotherapy, a new treatment for cancer. It was Modicum’s task of figuring out the best way to deliver this message.

Main Challenge(s):

The main challenge was to effectively inform the public of the nuances and details of the treatment (that it will work for some, and not for others, that it boosts your body’s immune responses, etc.) by utilizing a simple visual language.

Agency Solution(s):

Modicum’s team decided to use nuance to explain the details, as the scene with one person undergoing treatment is seen shadowy while the protagonist is more colorful and lively. The hard science and facts that need to be explained about the treatment come from a compassionate nurse character, and a close friend to the protagonist. The animation aimed to be simple, but human, and informative.

Results:

“Modicum was great to work with. Our project had some very specific needs, and they were close listeners and very open to feedback (and lots of it!) throughout the entire process. We love the final product, and have gotten a great response from our community.”
