We worked with the gym on raising the respective profile of MuayThai and Kickboxing practices in Calgary through SEO, social media management, and reputation management.

About the Client

Mike Miles MuayThai & Kickboxing Ltd. is Canada’s premier MuayThai Facility. Since opening its doors in 1977, over 40 of the gym’s students have become world champions under Mike’s tutelage, several of them have even gone on to fulfill dreams of opening MuayThai gyms of their own.

The gym provides the full spectrum of the sport, including full access to cardio and weights equipment as well as a variety of daily classes, private lessons, and fighter coaching. Additionally, the gym offers a wide selection of gear and other merchandise that can be purchased at the Pro Shop.

The Challenge

We worked with the gym on raising the respective profile of MuayThai and Kickboxing practices in Calgary through SEO, social media management, and reputation management. Our strategy focused on driving curious people and passionate fighters to the Mike Miles website, and gym, to learn about the culture, community, and trained experts that represented the brand.

What We Did

  • Social Media management and engagement
  • SEO
  • Reputation management

Results

Our SEO efforts revolved around keyword optimization for relevant practices taught at the gym such as Boxing, MMA, and Kickboxing. As well as using mixed media, such as video, on social media and local search engines to establish the trainers as experts in the subject matters in Calgary. Within the first few months of the marketing program, we were able to boost the brand in keyword rankings, taking it from the 100 level positions on keywords like Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing to the top 10 positions, and we delivered a wide range of new visitors to the website and social media pages/profiles. The total number of video views on the Facebook page jumped from 19 to over 4,000 views within the first month–all of which increased subscriptions and memberships to the gym, training programs, and brand.
