One Connect by Panasonic (AUPEO!)

The Challenge

We had a pleasure to participate in creating the first-ever vehicle-centric marketing and content delivery platform to connected drivers directly with the brands they trust.

Our team worked on AUPEO! by Panasonic – personal radio which is bringing a personal listening experience to the road. Nowadays AUPEO! is one of the main parts of Panasonic Automotive debuted One Connect SM, the platform that Panasonic’s Personal Radio by AUPEO! content service is built upon. This is the most innovative content delivery platform to date.

AUPEO! is a leading provider of personalized audio for internet-capable hardware devices — with a special focus on in-vehicle applications. AUPEO! offers radio stations that compose a unique stream of music, news, traffic, weather and other content for listeners.

Available for iOS, Android, Windows, and select consumer devices such as Samsung Smart TV’s alongside in-car integrations.

By extending the One Connect platform, Panasonic Automotive adds an even more sophisticated level of interaction by seamlessly integrating relevant messages to the driver.

One Connect is available to auto manufacturers to add as an audio integration feature that allows them to connect with drivers through their infotainment systems. For example, notifications on software updates, service reminders and other messages can be seamlessly integrated into vehicle audio at convenient and unobtrusive times for the driver.

One Connect & AUPEO! at a glance

AUPEO! Basic offers personal, mood (such as energetic or melancholic) and artist stations and is ad-supported while the premium version adds higher quality streaming, access to all AUPEO! stations and no ads.

You can also share your AUPEO! profile across all devices to create your personal music DNA with your favorite songs and stations.

The platform allows auto manufacturers to create their own user experiences and user interface designs for all on-board and connected audio content to meet their brand needs and best practices. With the addition of CRM capability to the One Connect platform, manufacturers can now also tailor customer service options to individually connect with, understand, and engage their drivers.

The Next Steps

We were expanding car-audio systems for carmakers, for example, developing an integration for Volkswagen cars based on MirrorLink technology. We also partnered with Ford AppLink system, Pioneer AppRadio, and Qualcomm AllPlay to bring AUPEO! and similar apps to their ecosystems. We were also working on concepts to expand the audio streaming platform to other areas of Panasonic business beyond automotive.

At present, AUPEO! by Panasonic project is continued as OneConnect. OneConnect is available to auto manufacturers to add as an audio integration feature that allows them to connect with the driver through their infotainment systems.
