About the Project:

Rug & Home, a brick and mortar furnishings retailer founded in 1994, contacted Huemor to assist them in fixing the problems with their SKUs on their website and to enhance their eCommerce platform.

Main Challenge(s):

To make 40,000+ SKUs intuitive for users of the site, to align the in-store experience with the online experience and to improve the website’s architecture while maintaining current search rankings.

Agency Solution(s):

The primary solution was to migrate the old site from its system to the Shopify Plus system, as the old site was unable to deal with large-scale stock recategorization. Google’s business walkthrough service was implemented into the site to create a virtual showroom, and they placed key images and testimonials in the user’s view to attract further attention/credibility. A simple touch-sorting interface was added to the site, and 6 custom filters were added after research was conducted on users and the competitors.

Results:

The lesson to be learned through this example is that a project must be broken down into its most integral elements, and through those elements the service may be refined and enhanced. If a firm decides to tackle too many issues at once, nothing can be done effectively.
