About the Project

Sailica’s mission is to solve any issues of yachtsmen within a single online platform: searching and booking a yacht in any region, a catalog of tours from proven yacht trip operators, and an editorial for yachtsmen and yachting enthusiasts.

Challenge

The challenge was to simplify the interface. We had a large array of data and had to think hard about what information to display in the simple and concise card of the yacht, and what information to hide. After launching the MVP version of the startup and starting to collect analytics of user actions, we regularly made changes to the yacht’s card, adding key information for easy choosing one of more than 10,000 yachts.

Solution

We have developed a simple and minimalistic interface. Any actions and user clicks are minimized. On the first screen of the main page of the site the minimum required fields for a quick yacht search in the desired region. Also on the main page, there are hot offers with substantial discounts, new articles from the magazine and fast navigation to the most popular yacht destinations in the world.

The page of yacht destinations was a challenge for us to find a balance between colourfulness and easy navigation. Azure water, snow-white yacht against the background of medieval fortresses – I really wanted to show all this beauty and awaken the spirit of travels in a visitor. But also consider the scalability and flexibility of the interface.
