About the Client

Samsung has its own store for Galaxy users, which features apps, games, fonts, themes and more, tailor-made for Samsung devices. People can enjoy unique apps, as well as known apps with special features and discounts for Samsung users.

Objective

Samsung employed Moburst to grow its app store in the US, known as ‘Galaxy Apps’. With over 70.2 million Samsung devices in the US, the goal was to increase downloads, retention, and revenue from the Galaxy App Store. Additionally, a heavy focus was set out on promoting the personalization features of the Galaxy device, such as Fonts and Themes stores.

Tactics

Using a variety of media channels, Moburst identified different segments that apply to different target audiences and initiated campaigns relevant for each segment. For example, gamers to the gaming section or Galaxy advocates to the Made for Samsung section. Fonts and themes for advanced design settings lovers, helping to make their phones unique for them.

Delivery and Results

By micro segmenting and running personalized ads to each segment, we were able to achieve the following results:

  • Downloads grew by 79%
  • Revenue grew by 36%
  • FB Page followers grew by 1400%
