Modulsystem Sweden AB partnered with Edvantis to develop a connected portable conductor device and a ticketing POS application.

Challenge

Modulsystem Sweden AB planned the development of a portable ticketing POS device for conductors. As the company faced a skill gap in-house, they were seeking a technology vendor with extensive experience with payment systems and Linux-based development.

Main Goals

  • Replace the previously used SK-20 ticketing device and application with a newer Android Famoco model
  • Preserve functionality from the old version in a new app
  • Integrate additional third-party applications

Solution

Edvantis created a BKU (Bärbar Konduktör Utrustning) – a connected ticketing device. The device serves as a cash register, e-ticketing machine, and validator for SL’s transport cards.

Technologies Used

NodeJS, Express, MongoDB, React, Redux, Docker, Linux
