The Unsung Heroes

Challenge

The brief from the client was to find an innovative way of thanking all the heroic people of Croatia in 2020 when the country was hit by earthquakes, as well as the pandemic.

Solution

An online activation that gives the citizens of Croatia an opportunity to thank ordinary people — who showed their heroism by helping those in need during 2020 — and creates a lasting trace and eternal memory of the noble deeds of known and unknown heroes. We upgraded the “Good People” website with a page where people could write short poems for their heroes.

Among the many verses dedicated to doctors, firefighters, and everyone else who showed their heroism, the most beautiful ones were transformed into the song “Heroes”, sung by Vanna.

As a final expression of gratitude to great people across the country, murals depicting a doctor, firefighter and an alpinist appeared in Zagreb, Osijek, and Split — to remind passers-by of the strength of human kindness.
