With the development made, the app needed a re-wiring and UX/UI design, with focus on also being Apple Watch ready.

About the Project

TraceMyTrack is an iOS app designed to record and manage your tracks and individual locations. Record your trips using predefined or individual profiles, view locations live on the map with statistics, tag them, add photos or descriptions. Using TraceMyTrack you can exploit the latest tools for professional tracking.

The Challenge

While having most of the backend programming done, the app still needed a re-wiring and user experience design, with the focus of it also being Apple Watch orientated.

All of the graphics are custom-made for varied displays, tablets, in both portrait and landscape mode, smartphones and Apple watch in order not to compromise on the end user’s experience.

The interface for the smartwatch needed to show the same features as the mobile app, but in a more direct way:

  • point based recording (track and single point)
  • predefined recording profiles for the most common cases (high-res vs. battery saving)
  • user-defined custom profiles
  • fine recording of the track as soon as the device is plugged to battery loading
  • visualisation of standing and starting points
  • multiple subtracks in a single track
  • tracks and subtracks visually editable
  • including splitting, merging and trim operations
  • live tracking on the map or in the background
  • customizable locations and tracks with description tags
  • photos
  • track statistics for time, distance, speed and lots more
  • graphical visualization of speed and height profile for tracks and subtracks
  • share your position or track with photos, map and messages with your friends
  • share on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, EveryTrail, Evernote, by e-mail or SMS
  • view locations in native maps application
  • export tracks or locations via email or EveryTrail
  • multiple languages supported: English, German (more to come)
  • multiple measurement systems supported
