NetCloak, an innovative cybersecurity startup, has been accepted into Techstars LA! Learn how NetCloak and Techstars are making a difference.

Congratulations to NetCloak on their acceptance into the Techstars LA startup accelerator program! In this week’s announcement, the tech incubator lauded the incredible breadth and depth of talent in the local startup ecosystem. Having had the chance to work with NetCloak’s impressive leadership team and staff first-hand, we agree that the forward-looking enterprise cybersecurity startup is a fantastic addition to Techstars LA’s Class of 2018.

NetCloak, founded in Los Angeles in 2017, believes that “people are the foundation of a holistic cybersecurity strategy.” They empower individual employees to remove publicly available data so that it can’t be leveraged in attacks against your business. By managing and reducing the amount of data that’s available to potential attackers, they reduce your business’ overall cybersecurity risk.

Selecting the Class of 2018

Techstars LA met with more than 400 companies to select the ten participants for their 2018 program. In compelling illustration of the strength of LA’s startup community, eight of the ten are based in the LA area. NetCloak is joined by a diverse group of startups, including Best Food Trucks, Blackstock & Weber, Fernish, PRZM, Relovv, Shipsi, the Cut, Trellis, and Unity Influence. Techstars LA reports that, in furtherance of their commitment to investing in diverse teams, 60% of the companies are led by CEOs from underrepresented communities.

Accelerating Startup Success

Startup accelerator programs like Techstars are embraced by startups and investors for their ability to help startups expedite success. Accelerators give startup leaders the mentoring, education, and support needed to fund and run a successful startup. They also provide participants with invaluable opportunities to connect with potential investors, partners, and service providers; fellow entrepreneurs; and customers.

Since its founding in Colorado in 2006, Techstars has proven to be a true accelerating force for startup communities worldwide. More than 1,500 companies have participated, accounting for $5.44B in funding and $13.9B in market cap. Notable Techstars alumni include ClassPass, Digital Ocean, PillPack, Sphero, RealtyMogul.com, and Contently, among countless others.

Design Makes a Difference

At Distillery, we’re always excited to play a role in helping startups like NetCloak to move their businesses forward. Distillery Product Manager Andrew Reinstein and Senior UI Designer Luciana Flora worked with NetCloak on a brief project to upgrade the design of their web app. We helped design a clean, user-friendly dashboard interface that helps people to easily review their levels of protection and vulnerability. According to NetCloak CEO Marc-Lloyd Ramniceanu, “The fantastic Distillery design for our web app definitely helped us stand out!

Massive congratulations to everyone at NetCloak for their well-deserved acceptance into Techstars LA! We can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
