We designed and developed a new Umbraco website for Cormar Carpet Company’s B2C division.
The Cormar Carpet Company is one of the UK’s biggest carpet manufacturers. Founded in 1958 by Neville Cormack O.B.E., the company has recorded exponential growth and now employees a team of 250 with a fleet of 60 delivery vehicles. Cormar have recently been awarded the prestigious Best Carpet Manufacturer 2018 title, reinforcing their distinguished reputation as a leading carpet manufacturer.
Following the success of the B2B trade portal we developed for Cormar, they commissioned CSI Media to re-design and develop their B2C website. The previous website had become dated and was non-responsive across some of today’s most popular devices. The aim was to enhance brand visibility and deliver an excellent user-experience across all devices, ultimately, to encourage people to consider Cormar’s range of high-quality carpets for their home, order samples and visit their local retailer.
An Engaging User Experience…
We worked closely with marketing personnel at Cormar to develop a website that delivered an engaging and efficient user-experience.
The new website features a clean and welcoming UI that supports Cormar’s core brand image and encourages fluid navigation throughout the website.
A Carpet Ranges section allows users to easily explore Cormar’s expansive selection of carpets, whilst an Inspiration area presents categorised ideas to users; Family Friendly, Easy Clean and Striped Carpets are just a few examples.
Responsive across all the of the latest browsers and devices – as per all our websites – the new website delivers a consistently outstanding experience on desktop, tablet and mobile.
Autonomy for the Marketing Team
The marketing team have a high-level of autonomy over the structure and content on their website. Developed on the world-leading Content Management System, Umbraco, the team at Cormar can easily create new and engaging landing pages, blog and news articles.
Our developers placed great importance on technical optimisation of the website, making sure that HTML was developed to the highest standard. Combined with a plethora of SEO tools built within the Umbraco CMS including title tags, canonical links and re-direct functionality, the new website has been given the best possible grounding to help Cormar improve their organic reach and, subsequently, increase brand visibility.
Easily Find Your Local Carpet Retailer
We developed and integrated key functionality that allows users to easily order carpet samples and arrange delivery to their home address. Strategically placed call-to-actions are located across the website to encourage users to order samples; these can easily be added to blog and news articles. For example, a blog article centred around the chilly disposition of winter hues could implement a clickable button that links through to the Sensation carpet range.
The Find a Retailer tool is an important component on the new website. Users can search for their nearest Cormar stockist by city, county or postcode, and the system returns the 10 closest retailers, complete with contact information and a clickable web address.
The website has only just launched and, therefore, we don’t have any key metrics just yet! However, Cormar have received excellent feedback from some of their clientele.
